Deputy Minister Paweł Szefernaker in Berlin
On 28 June, Deputy Minister of the Interior and Administration Paweł Szefernaker paid a visit to Berlin, where he met with the Federal Government Commissioner for Matters Related to Ethnic German Resettlers and National Minorities. Minister took also part in a conference about Polish-German relations, organized by the foundation Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and the Polish Embassy in Germany. The conference was held on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of regaining independence by Poland.
The meeting in the Federal Ministry of the Interior – on the invitation of the German part – with Bernd Fabritius, Federal Government Commissioner for Matters Related to Ethnic German Resettlers and National Minorities, was the first point on the agenda. Deputy Minister Paweł Szefernaker was accompanied by Under Secretary of State in the Ministry of National Education Maciej Kopeć. Preparations to the renewal of the Polish-German Round Table was the main topic of the discussion.
The meeting in Berlin followed the talks held by Polish ministers with Bernd Fabritius who accompanied German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier during his last visit to Poland (on 6 June).
In the evening, Minister Paweł Szefernaker, together with Ambassador of Poland to Berlin Andrzej Przyłębski, attended the conference "1918-2018: the past and the future of the Polish-German relations 100 years after regaining independence by Poland”, organized by the foundation Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung. The discussion summed up 100 years of the Polish-German relationship and outlined the prospect of its development. Deputy Minister Paweł Szefernaker spoke at a panel discussion concerning the future of the Polish-German bilateral relations.
